A study of faction preference among Gazan Arabs conducted by the Birzeit University found that 37 percent would vote for Fatah if elections were to be held now. Only 23 percent said they would vote for Hamas.

According to the poll, a majority (58 percent) support forming a Fatah-Hamas unity government.
