The police destroyed two structures at the Mitzpeh Avichai outpost near Kiryat Arba, and took down a tent at the Federman’s Farm outpost in the area as well early Wednesday morning. At approximately 3:00 a.m., police and army forces arrived at the sites with bulldozers and destroyed the structures. No arrests were made, and the residents of the outposts vowed to rebuild.
The move comes less than a week after police destroyed five houses and a synagogue at the Maoz Esther outpost in Binyamin. Defense Minister Ehud Barak and Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu have said that 26 additional outposts in Judea and Samaria will be evacuated. National Union MK Michael Ben Ari responded to the early morning destructions claiming, “The Netanyahu government is worse for Judea and Samaria than one led by [Opposition Leader] Tzipi Livni."
