Jordan officially objected to MK Aryeh Eldad’s pronouncement last week that it is the official Palestinian state, and that Arabs in Judea and Samaria should be given Jordanian citizenship. Jordanian Foreign Minister Naser Joudeh invited the Israeli Ambassador to Jordan Yaakov Rozen to his office Tuesday and asked him if Eldad’s statement represents official Israeli policy.
Rozen told Joudeh that Eldad’s statement was in fact a personal opinion, and did not represent official policy. Eldad had made the statement and then the Knesset voted 53 to nine to pass the idea on to the Knesset Foreign and Defense Committee.
