The Hatikvah party, part of the National Union party, called on Defense Minister Ehud Barak to focus on destroying illegally built Arab structures instead of focusing solely on structures built by Jews. Last Thursday, the police knocked down five houses and a synagogue in the Maoz Esther community in Binyamin.
“The Hatikvah party reminds Defense Minister Ehud Barak that his job is to worry about Israel’s security, not to destroy the Jewish people’s grip on the land of Israel. He should maintain the law by acting first against illegal Arab building, which is occurring also on Jewish land in eastern Jerusalem.”
