Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu said he fully supports the decisions and measures taken by Defense Minister Ehud Barak regarding the dismantling of settlements in Judea and Samaraia (Yesha) which are deemed to be “illegal”. “There is no opposition on the need to carry out the laws,” said Netanyahu during a meeting with Barak and President Shimon Peres.
The meeting was called to let Netanyahu report on his recent meeting with U.S. President Barack Obama and other high level officials. Minister of Environmental Protection Gilad Erdan (Likud) said that he opposed the actions which only target illegla Jewish building, “What difference is there between illegal building in Arab areas and illegal building in Jewish areas in Judea and Samaria?”
