Head of Seismology for the Geophysical Institute of Israel (GII) Dr. Rami Hofstetter warned Thursday that earthquakes could soon occur in Israel and people should prepare. Hofstetter said that there are several hotspot areas in Israel that are especially prone to earthquakes and seismological activity.
Commissioned by the Earth Sciences Research Administration of Israel, GII's Seismology Division performs studies and surveys to reduce earthquake risk in Israel.
