The United States is pushing Israel to make “good-will gestures” to the Palestinian Authority prior to U.S. President Obama's trip to Cairo in June, according to Haaretz. Obama plans to make a speech to the Muslim world from the Egyptian capital.
Israel could make it easier to convince Arab and Muslims states to normalize relations with Israel by making concessions to the PA, American sources told the paper. Previous “good-will gestures” have included the early release of terrorists, the removal of terrorists from the IDF's “wanted” list, and the dismantling of checkpoints and roadblocks in Judea and Samaria.
