United States President Barack Obama's hopes for Israel and the Palestinian Authority include the creation of a PA state in Judea, Samaria and Gaza within four years, according to the London-based Al-Quds al-Arabi. According to the paper, Obama's plan was created in coordination with Jordan's King Abdullah.
The capital of the new PA state would be Jerusalem, the paper stated. Israel has maintained sovereignty over the entire city of Jerusalem since reuniting the capital in 1967. However, the PA claims that areas occupied by Jordan from 1948 to 1967 should be included in an Arab state.
As part of the deal to create a PA state, the PA would be required to give up the “right of return,” which demands that all Arabs descended from Arabs who fled Israel during the War of Independence be eligible to “return” to Israel and be granted citizenship.
