Hamid Reza Katouzian, head of the Iraniain Parliament's Energy Commission, said that for Russia to maintain its economic partnership with Iran it would have to complete the Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant. Katouzian's comments came during a press conference at the Majlis Energy Commission’s visit to the plant today.

"Ever since the year 1981, Iran has been investing dearly both economically and politically in Bushehr Nuclear Power plant, but today its output is way lower than expected,” said Katouzian in a report from the Iranian news agency. "The Russian side has not met its commitments the way it has been expected to, the volume of the man force it has allocated to this project has been too low, and the extent of its invested energy to push forth the project shows that Russia is not seriously pursuing the matter."
