The Knesset Ordering Committee voted on Monday to lower the number of MKs per Committee in the Knesset’s new session. Likud MK Ze'ev Elkin explained that the process was designed to allow Knesset members to devote more time to a smaller number of committees they will sit on.
Members of the opposition from Kadima had reservations with regard to the proposal, but accepted it in the end. Members of the Arab parties and some members of the Labor party, however, claimed the decision took power away from the Knesset.
