A march to the destroyed Jewish community of Homesh in northern Samaria will take place next week on Wednesday, the holiday of Lag B’omer. Homesh was evacuated by the Israeli government as part of the 2005 disengagement from Gush Katif and northern Samaria.
The march begins at 12:00 p.m. from the community of Shavei Shomron. Transportation to the top of Homesh is available. Tours and activities for children will take place at the site, as well as a concert at 4:30 p.m. with Chaim David Sarachek and Ariel Zilber. At 6:30 p.m. participants will light a massive bonfire in honor of Lag B’omer.
