Barak's Proposed Paris Trip Rejected by Olmert

Former Knesset Member Weitzman Shiri, a relative of Defense Minister Ehud Barak, responded to outgoing Prime Minister Ehud Olmert’s move to prevent Barak to travel to Paris. “The outgoing Prime Minister’s behavior is strange. He personally testified that he is not a man of vengeance. He proved to everyone that he behaves like one of the last businessmen.”

Shiri added his hope that in the event that the government would need to make a crucial decision, the Prime Minister would not cloud it with personal issues, “what he didn’t do nor knew how to lately,” Shiri stated.

Defense Minister Ehud Barak’s proposal to go on a state trip to Paris was rejected by Olmert, who told the Cabinet that the decision should be made by the incoming government.
