The Labor party expressed disgust Thursday night with a Meretz party protest that involved putting a sticker saying, “Goodbye, Labor” next to the graves of assassinated Prime Minister Yitzchak Rabin and his wife Leah.
"Meretz leaders are getting another explanation of why the public is sick of them,” said Labor spokesman Lior Robert. “This ugly, shameful use of Yitzchak Rabin and his memory for cheap and pathetic provocation explains why Meretz remains a niche party on the sidelines that lacks real influence.”
Meretz activists said they had conducted the protest to show that Meretz is “the real home of the Zionist left.”
