The police announced Sunday morning that the license plate on a car bomb planted near a mall in Haifa on Saturday night was fake. They had previously thought that it belonged to an Arab from eastern Jerusalem.
The car bomb was discovered by an alert passerby and disarmed by police. It was considered unusually large and police said it was a “miracle” that it did not go off.
