Hamas Military-Wing Chief Jabari in Egypt

Hamas’ military-wing chief, Ahmed Jabari, has been in Egypt for four days heading the negotiations with Israel for kidnapped soldier Gilad Shalit, according to London-based paper Al-Hayat. Jabari, who had never before left Gaza, is considered directly responsible for Shalit and for the prisoner negotiations.

The paper also reported that Israel had agreed to free 300 prisoners on Hamas’ list of 450. According to the report, Israel refuses to release terrorists who have been in jail for over 30 years, or prisoners who are convicted murderers. The Hamas delegation also includes senior figures Mahmoud A-Zahar and Nazar Udallah.
