Turkey said on Saturday is was prepared to host talks between Israel and Syria again, if both countries were interested. Speaking Saturday, Turkish Foreign Minister Ali Babacan said that Ankara was available to host the indirect talks that were stopped earlier this year after Operation Cast Lead.

On a visit to Ankara, U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton praised Turkey's efforts to push Israel and Syria to negotiate. "The importance of this track, the peace effort, cannot be overstated," said Clinton during a brief stopover in Ankara.
