The Hamas terrorist organization has condemned the international donor conference held Monday in Sharm el-Sheikh to raise funds for the reconstruction of infrastructure in Gaza.
The group called the event a "means of extortion in order to strengthen" Palestinian Authority Chairman and Fatah leader Mahmoud Abbas, even though it is Hamas that rules the region in question. The AFP news agency quoted a senior Hamas terrorist who said in a statement Tuesday, "Conference participants exploited the urgent need to rehabilitate the Gaza Strip for political ends, extortion and pressuring Hamas." The event, hosted by Egypt, raised nearly $4.4 billion dollars, to be paid over the next two years.
