Police on Saturday broke up a gathering in Jerusalem that was being sponsored by the Palestinian Authority. Internal Security Minister Avi Dichter issued an order banning the event from taking place, and police dispersed the group. They then attempted to move the event and hold the meeting at a different location in Jerusalem, but police broke this up as well.

Police said that the event was being funded and presented by the PA. According to the Oslo Accords, the PA is banned from carrying out political activity in Jerusalem.
