Hizbullah Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah reacted for the first time Monday evening to the results of the recent Israeli elections, saying the stronger right-wing emerging from them correctly reflect the nation's image. In a speech shown during a ceremony marking the anniversary of the elimination of the organization's arch-terrorist, Imad Mugniyah, Nasrallah related to the possibility that Yisrael Beiteinu Chairman Avigdor Lieberman might be named defense minister, saying "They were all defeated in Lebanon: Begin, Sharon, Rabin, Barak, Netanyahu, Olmert, Livni. There is one they have not tried and his name is Lieberman. We'll see what he's made of."
The Hizbullah chief vowed revenge for Mughniyeh's death, saying Israel was becoming increasingly afraid of a Hizbullah revenge attack. He also claimed that Israel was continuing to invade Lebanese air space and said, "The Lebanese resistance has a right to obtain arms in order to deal with these violations." He added that he would neither confirm or deny if Hizbullah had them.
