Bar-On Won't Be Probed for Double Voting

Attorney-General Menachem Mazuz decided Monday evening that there was not enough evidence to open a criminal investigation against Finance Minister Ronnie Bar-On for double voting. Mazuz based the decision on a preliminary report by police and a legal opinion by the State Prosecutor's Office.

Bar-On was seen on video pushing the electronic voting buttons of Knesset Member Inbal Gavrieli in addition to his own during Knesset action on the budget in 2003. Gavrieli viewed the video and said that while she did not remember exactly what happened, she could have given Bar-On permission to vote in her place.
