      Kadima Accepts Yisrael Beiteinu Demands

During a meeting between Haim Ramon of the Kadima party and chief negotiator Stas Misezhnikov of Yisrael Beiteinu Monday afternoon, Kadima made it clear that it is ready to accept five principles that Yisrael Beiteinu is demanding for coalition negotiations with Kadima. Those principles are the bringing down of Hamas, a law on citizenship and one on civil marriages, a change in the system of government and a relaxation of the procedures for conversion to Judaism.

Ramon did not accept Yisrael Beiteinu's "Loyalty Law." Kadima also made it clear that it was not taking any new position, but stating party policy as represented in the speeches of chairwoman Tzipi Livni.
