Moshe Keinan, who lost his son Avihu, five years ago in an IDF operation, sent Sunday evening a letter to government ministers in wake of news that hundreds of terrorists would be released in exchange for the captured Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit.

In the letter, Keinan expressed his outrage why the Israeli government does not seem to care whether 1000 prisoners would be freed for the release of 1 Israeli soldier. Referring to Gilad Shalit’s family, Keinan wrote, “There are families who will not see their sons since they sent their sons [into battle] and they fell in battle. They cry quietly and accept the price, with the understanding that there is a price that must be paid for the nation’s security.”

Political officials confirmed Sunday that the terrorist Marwin Barghouti would be released in a prisoner exchange, Channel 10 News reported Sunday. Barghouti is currently serving five life sentences for the murder of Israeli citizens.
