Dutch Member of Parliament Geert Wilders was questioned by immigration officials at Heathrow Airport in London Thursday afternoon after flying to England in defiance of a ban by Britain's home office on his entering the United Kingdom. The Dutch Ambassador was also at Heathrow to make clear Dutch government's opposition to the ban on Mr Wilders entering the UK.
Wilders had been invited to show his controversial film "Fitna" - which links the Islamic holy book the Qura'an to terrorism - in the House of Lords. Lord Malcolm Pearson, who invited Wilders, said he disagreed with the Dutch lawmaker's call to ban the Qura'an, but accused the Home Office of "appeasing violent Islam".
