The Yisael Beiteinu party is challenging Kadima as the second most popular political party, according to a Geocartographia poll for the Globes business population released on Thursday. According to the survey, if the Knesset elections were held Thursday, Yisrael Beiteinu would pick up 21 seats, as compared to 22 or 23 for Kadima.
The poll puts the Likud party on top with 26 mandates, but makes Yisrael Beiteinu leader Avigdor Lieberman the one with the power to determine the ruling coalition. Former power Labor is a distant fourth with 15-16 seats forecast, while Shas projects 10 mandates and the Ichud Leumi (National Union) six. United Torah Judaism, the Meretz-new party list and Hadash foresee five seats each. The poll gives the United Arab Ra'am-Ta'al list three seats and the Bayit Yehudi party two mandates.
