The Legal Forum for the Land of Israel turned to Attorney-General Menachem Mazuz on Thursday evening to block the transfer of 150 million shekels to Gaza by Prime Minister Ehud Olmert earlier in the day. The forum said that Defense Minister Ehud Barack's opposition to the transfer showed that procedures for making what the prime minister called a technical, regularly scheduled transfer. The forum says the procedures require the treasury to consult with the defense minister and the interior minister before such a transfer is approved.

The forum called on Olmert, the army and the Bank of Israel to stop the transfer or risk an urgent appeal to the Supreme Court.
