Police sources have said that their questioning of outgoing Prime Minister Ehud Olmert last Friday leads them to believe that there is enough evidence to indict him for being involved in illegal political appointments of friends. Further questioning is likely, according to the Hebrew newspaper Haaretz.
The probe began two years ago when State Comptroller and Ombudsman Micha Lindenstrauss charged Olmert with using his position as Finance Minister to make "improper and politically motivated appointments."
