Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad honored Lebanese murderer Samir Kuntar on Thursday, giving him a prize at a ceremony for political prisoners. Kuntar and two other Lebanese terrorists got awards for their prison time in Israel and for “supporting the Palestinian and Lebanese resistance.”
Kuntar spoke at the ceremony, encouraging Arabs to “resist the American occupation” and “resist the Zionist regime and destroy it.” He credited Iran with “a big part in the victories of the years 2000, 2006 and the most recent victory of the people of Gaza.”
Kuntar was in prison for almost 30 years after infiltrating Israel and murdering four people, including a young girl whose head he smashed after killing her father. He was released from prison last year as part of an exchange for the bodies of kidnapped IDF soldiers Eldad Regev and Ehud Goldwasser.
