2008 Was a Record Year for Organ Donations Reported: 16:21 PM - Jan/27/09
(IsraelNN.com) In 2008, 314 organs were donated in Israel for transplant, the largest number in the 15-year history of the National Transplant Center, according to figures released on Tuesday. Israel saw 279 transplant operations during the course of the year. 58 of the donors were living. 473,000 Israelis have signed organ-donor cards. News first class reports that while the number of transplants rose during the year, the number of those waiting for organs also rose. There was a rise in integrated operations during the year.
