A-G: Lieberman's Remarks Inappropriate but Not Criminal

The office of Attorney-General Menachem Mazuz released a statement on Tuesday that recent remarks by Yisrael Beiteinu Chairman Avigdor Lieberman to Arab Members of Knesset were not appropriate but that "the criminal field is not the place to deal with expressions of this sort," according to Ynet. Lieberman told the legislators that he would deal with them as Israel dealt with Hamas during the recent counter-terror campaign in Gaza.

Attorney Osama Saadi, the legal advisor for the Ra'am-Ta'al Arab Knesset faction responded to the Attorney-General's statement by saying that the movement will continue to fight what he called "racist incitement".
