Residents of 24 regional councils will vote in leadership elections Tuesday. In Judea and Samaria, voting will take place in the southern Hevron Hills, where three candidates are challenging incumbent Tzviki Bar Chai, whose son Dvir was seriously wounded on the first night of the Cast Lead counterterrorist operation in Gaza. Elections also are being held in the Jordan Valley and in Gush Etzion, where incumbent Shaul Goldstein is running for re-election.

Other areas where new leaders will be elected include Gilboa, near Beat She'an, Lachish, near Kiryat Gat, Tamar, in the Dead Sea region and Gezer, near Lod-Ramle.
