The niece of a Gaza doctor was wounded by Hamas fire and not that of Israeli troops, according to findings reported on Sunday night by Channel 1 Israeli government television. Dr. Az ad-Din al-Ayyash lost three daughters when his house was hit by what he claimed was Israeli tank fire.
His niece was taken to Barzilai hospital in Ashkelon for treatment after the attack. Medical imaging from the hospital shows a ball bearing lodged in her skull, indicating a terrorist weapon, as opposed to Israeli munitions. The evidence has been turned over to the military's ballistics experts.
