Maj. Gen. Amos Gilad, Coordinator of Government Operations departs Thursday for Egypt in order to discuss the Egyptian initiative for a ceasefire in Gaza.
Ahmed Abul Gheit, Egypt’s Foreign Minister, earlier stated that Hamas has told Egypt about its position regarding a ceasefire proposal, which Egypt will show Gilad.
If the ceasefire initiative goes through, it will then need to be approved by the Knesset. As long as there is no ceasefire in place, Jerusalem will continue to fight against Hamas.
