Arab officials stated Wednesday that the Hamas has agreed to a ceasefire, in accordance with the Egyptian initiative. It is still unclear under which conditions what type of agreement would be presented. Hamas is expected to announce before a press conference at 7:30 p.m. the main points of the agreement.

The Middle East News Agency (MENA), Egypt’s official news agency, similarly reported on Wednesday that the Hamas positively responded to Egyptian efforts to bring calm to the south.
