Mistaken rocket tracking was the cause of a false alarm in Jerusalem and the vicinity on Wednesday afternoon. When the air raid system located a rocket launching from the direction of Gaza, the system tracking falsely predicted that the firing was towards Jerusalem. The computerized air raid system then sounded, causing confusion among Jerusalem residents.

The Home Front received numerous calls from concerned citizens. When it became clear that the rocket was not aimed towards Jerusalem, the alarm was stopped.
