Doctors in Gaza City told the Arab daily Al Jazeera that people have been suffering burns from phosphorus. Human rights activists have said that Israeli forces have used phosphorus in its munitions, which were dropped by Israeli planes over Gaza City and Jabaliya in recent days.
The IDF, in response, explained that they indeed dropped smoke bombs, which contain traces of phosphorus. Nevertheless, the amount of phosphorus is used for smoke bombs, which are allowed under international law.
