The expected water crisis in Israel this summer will be even worse than feared if winter does not make a late but prolonged appearance this year. Only two heavy rainstorms have hit the country this year, and the forecast does not indicate any precipitation in the near future, except for light showers in the north Sunday.

Skies will clear Sunday afternoon and it will turn chillier on Monday, with temperatures ranging from 14-6 (57-43 F) in Jerusalem, one degree less in the hills of Judea and Samaria, 16-9 (61-48 F) in Tel Aviv and 15-5 (59-41 F) in Be'er Sheva.

Springtime temperatures will prevail from Tuesday through Friday, when the thermometer will soar to 24 (75 F) in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv, 27 (81 F) in Be'er Sheva and 30 (86 F) in Eilat.
