Former Middle East peace envoy Dennis Ross, who worked in the administration of former U.S. President Bill Clinton, will most likely be repeating that role under incoming Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, reports from Washington said over the weekend. Ross was the' chief U.S. negotiator for both Clinton and former President George H.W. Bush.
Ross was heavily involved in the 1997 negotiations between Israel and the Palestinian Authority that led to the division of Hevron. He also worked on the negotiations between Israel and the PA in 2000. Those talks failed and led to the second intifada.
