Hundreds of Gaza residents who hold foreign citizenship left the area on Thursday in a mass evacuation coordinated with Israel. Approximately 300 foreign citizens left Gaza via the Erez crossing and continued by bus to Jordan.
Another 400 foreign citizens had arranged to leave on Thursday, but did not arrive at the crossing. Diplomats said they were unable to reach some citizens because many phone lines in Gaza are down.
