(IsraelNN.com) Shas representatives attacked the Jewish Home party on Thursday, accusing its members of supporting the expulsion of Jews from Gaza. “The National Religious Party, which authorized the Disengagement, has disguised itself as the Jewish Home, and dares to talk about concern for those expelled from Gaza. They would be better off not mentioning their sins,” sources in Shas said.

The harsh statement was made after Jewish Home head Rabbi Daniel Hershkowitz said the party would not sit in a government that did not commit to solve the problems facing Jews expelled from Gaza. However, the entire issue may be moot: this week's polls showed that the Jewish Home party did not have enough popular support to win a mandate in the upcoming Knesset.
