Israel complained to the United Nations on Thursday night over the Katyusha rocket attacks in Nahariya on Thursday morning. The rocket fire from Lebanon was a blatant violation of UN resolution 1701, which ended the Second Lebanon War, Israeli ambassador Gabriela Shalev said.
The rocket fire confirms Israel's concerns over weapons buildup in southern Lebanon, Shalev said. Lebanon is obligated to keep the peace in southern Lebanon and to avoid weapons smuggling to the area, she added.
