In response to Israel's military operations in Gaza, president-elect Barak Obama stated Wednesday, "Obviously I'm deeply concerned. From the day that I take office, we will take care of the situation immediately."

Nevertheless, Obama does not want to send messages that differ from current President Bush.

"Until I take office, it would be imprudent of me to send signals that we are offering a foreign policy when I am not authorized to do so," Obama stated.
