Minister of Internal Security Avraham Dichter stated in Wednesday's Mabat news program, "I think that had there been a ceasefire today, there would not be a cease of fire from Gaza."

Dichter quoted former U.S. Secretary of State Henry Kissinger, who once stated, "Israel cannot afford to lose."
Dichter feels that Israel must achieve its goals in both the military and political arena. In addition, he feels that Israel's fighting against the Hamas terrorist organization is helping the entire world in its fight against terrorism.

Regarding pressure from world leaders to bring an immediate ceasefire, Dichter noted that more than half of the Arab casualties in Gaza are terrorists.
