The IDF's Coordinator of Government Operations, Major-General Amos Gilad will depart Thursday for Cairo.

Gilad will discuss with Egyptian officials the details of a possible ceasefire agreement which has developed in the last few days.

Jerusalem favors the Egyptian initiative for a ceasefire agreement. Nevertheless, government officials clarified that it will be some time before Israel ceases its military activities in Gaza.
