Some school students from Israel's south will be returning to school, starting Sunday. Only schools that are equipped with adequate shelters will be open in the south.

The decision of gradually opening the schools in the rocket-ridden areas was made during a special meeting of Education Ministry officials regarding the current situation in southern Israel.

In addition, the Education Ministry has launched a web-based learning package that would allow students to stay in touch with their teachers and other students.

According to the Education Ministry, its educational websites have received about 200,000 hits.
