Baby Born to Officer Fighting in Gaza

(IsraelNN.com) Lieutenant Matan Almaliach, part of the Givati Brigade fighting in Gaza, received the news Tuesday that his wife gave birth to a baby boy. Lieutenant Colonel Gur gave him the good news when their force stopped to rest in an Arab house.
Gur also recommend that Almaliach name the baby Ofer Yatzuk, a play on the Hebrew name for Operation Cast Lead. Almaliach received a day off to visit his wife and new child.
