Acting Prime Minister Ehud Olmert met with French President Nicolas Sarkozy on Monday night. The two discussed Israel's Gaza operation and debates over the operation in the United Nations.

A UN security council resolution calling for a ceasefire “would not be appropriate,” Olmert told Sarkozy. “Today it's Hamas, tomorrow it will be Hizbullah and the Islamic Jihad and the day after, Al-Qaeda,” he warned.
