The Finance Ministry decided Monday to earmark NIS 8 million to bolster emergency preparedness in the South. The money will be transferred to the regional councils.

Funds will be used to increase firefighting services and add more gear to bomb shelters, such as mattresses, blankets, and heaters. The funds can also be used for other emergency costs the regional councils incur.
