French President Nicolas Sarkozy will arrive in Israel Monday in attempt to broker a cease fire between Israel and Hamas. He will be accompanied by EU official Hawar Sulana and the foreign ministers of Switzerland and Chzeckoslovokia.  

Israel is also trying to reach a cease fire brokered through the U.S. and Egypt. Israel demands a cease to rocket fire and Hamas’ guarantee to desist from rearming.
