Reassured smiles returned to relieved western Negev residents Sunday morning with no rocket or mortar attacks reported since one shell hit an open area in the Eshkol region around 4 a.m. Lives of Gaza Belt communities have been shattered by terrorists attacks for eight years, with occasional periods of quiet during IDF retaliations.
The only sounds of fire have been IDF artillery fire as ground troops continue to maintain control in Gaza. However, schools are closed until further notice, and non-residents have been barred from the area.
