IDF soldiers entered Gaza on Saturday night, beginning ground operations for the first time since the “Cast Lead” operation began one week ago. Soldiers entered the area hours after the IDF began using artillery fire against terrorist targets for the first time since the operation began.

Acting Prime Minister Ehud Olmert and other senior ministers have not disclosed the goals of operation, and say only that their goals have not changed since the IAF began bombing Hamas targets last Saturday.
